Tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Kirin and I am the founder and creative director at 7pm Linen. My husband Chris and I moved to Lennox Head on the far north coast of NSW 7 years ago out of a desire to live a slower paced life by the sea. We now have four young children Chloe, Indigo, Franklin and Penelope and our beloved dog Bliss.
How did 7pm Linen come to life?
7pm Linen begun as a dream when I was pregnant with Chloe a little over 6 years ago.
Whilst gathering items for the nursery like many new Mothers I envisioned simple, timeless products that would complement and add to our life without adding to the clutter.
With a love for linen I searched high and low for bassinet and cot sheets however could not find any on the market so decided to make some. It was in this moment the 7pm Linen dream ignited. It didn’t take long for friends to start asking and soon after giving birth to Chloe 7pm Linen came to life.
How do you balance Motherhood and the brand?
7pm Linen only exists due to being a Mother first and is only possible with the support I have from Chris. Balancing the two is an ever evolving challenge, one I am still yet to master, but at the same time has brought a lot of flexibility to our family enabling me to be there for our children throughout the big and little moments.
When I start to feel overwhelmed and burnt out it’s important to communicate so I can take ‘me’ time. Usually this means a 10min solo dip in the ocean to help me reset.
What inspires your pieces?
My constant inspiration is my children and our desire to live a slower paced life by the sea.
Spending most of our days immersed in nature inspires colours and reinforces the desire for thoughtful sustainable pieces that can be mixed, passed on, reused and loved in all seasons. As our family has grown so too has 7pm Linen. This lead to the launch of our children collection, our waffle linen sleeping bags and soon to launch baby rompers.
We will continue to be influenced by our surroundings and choose quality over quantity to create timeless essentials for your little loves.
